Abstract

This community service aims to develop environmentally friendly sandwich composite manufacturing by developing traditional Acehnese fishing boat products to strengthen food resilience for the coastal community in Baet Village. The implementation methods used were literature study, field observation, interviews, and testing of composite sandwich materials in making traditional Acehnese fishing boats. The materials used consisted of ramie fibers as an environmentally friendly composite material. The results of the community service showed that the traditional Acehnese fishing boats made from composite sandwich materials have higher strength and durability than the commonly used traditional fishing boats. Additionally, the composite materials are environmentally friendly and can reduce negative environmental impacts. Besides increasing efficiency and effectiveness in producing traditional fishing boats, it can also help improve food resilience for the coastal community in Baet Village.
