Tingkat Partisipasi Peserta dalam Kegiatan Workshop Pengemasan Olahan Jamur di Desa Limpok, Aceh Besar

A community service activity in the form of a mushroom product packaging workshop was conducted in Limpok Village, Aceh Besar, by a team from the Department of Biology Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Syiah Kuala University, in collaboration with the Elephant and Biodiversity Conservation Center. The objective of this activity was to improve community skills in packaging straw mushroom products to make them more attractive, hygienic, and distinctive, thereby enhancing their marketability. The method used was participatory observation, in which participants were evaluated based on attendance, activity in discussions, and involvement in hands-on practice. A total of 55 participants participated in the workshop, consisting of 25 biology education students and 30 local residents. Field results showed a very high level of participation: 88% of students attended the full program, while community attendance reached 100% from beginning to end. Regarding active engagement, 60% of students and 40% of community members contributed actively to discussions. All participants were involved in the practical packaging sessions. This activity provided students with the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world settings. At the same time, the community gained practical skills applicable to small-scale business development, particularly in enhancing economic value and optimizing limited land use. The success of this program indicates that product packaging training is an effective approach to improving the quality and competitiveness of local products.
