This community service activity aimed to raise students’ awareness and knowledge about the dangers of plastic waste, particularly within the school environment. The program was conducted at SMAN 10 Fajar Harapan Banda Aceh, involving 10th and 11th-grade students and supervising teachers. The implementation method consisted of two main stages: education and participatory action. The educational phase involved interactive materials on the environmental and health impacts of plastic waste, as well as the economic value of plastic when properly managed. The participatory phase comprised waste sorting, creative recycling workshops, and a commitment declaration for a plastic-free school. The results showed increased student understanding of microplastic hazards, adoption of eco-friendly behaviors such as reusable water bottles, and the school’s commitment to sustainable waste management. This program effectively fostered environmental awareness and behavior among students and may serve as a model for similar initiatives in other schools to collectively reduce plastic waste.
