Pemberdayaan Masyarakat melalui Pelaksanaan Qurban Partisipatif di Dusun Timur Desa Kopelma Darussalam Kota Banda Aceh

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to document and analyze a participatory qurban implementation in Dusun Timur, Desa Kopelma Darussalam, Banda Aceh, in 2026. The activity was conducted on 27 May 2026 at Musalla Darul Faizin using a participatory, cooperative approach involving residents and the committee, from planning and participant registration to fundraising, site preparation, animal health examination, slaughtering, cutting, packaging, and meat distribution. Students from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and the Department of Animal Science, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Syiah Kuala, conducted ante-mortem and post-mortem examinations. Fourteen cattle and ten goats were slaughtered. The examinations indicated that the animals were healthy, had ideal Body Condition Scores, and were fit for consumption. The activity produced 1,257 portions of beef and 100 portions of goat meat, distributed to residents of Dusun Timur and poor beneficiaries outside the hamlet. Community solidarity was strengthened through active participation and donations of ingredients for kuah beulangong. The findings indicate that participatory qurban management can integrate religious practice, animal fitness assurance, equitable distribution, accountability, and social solidarity. Future implementation should improve facilities, animal-handling education, hygiene, and technical standardization.
