This activity uses a descriptive qualitative approach with interview methods, group discussions, and field observations to explore the potential and challenges faced by BUMG. The results show that the TPS has been operating with the support of the community and other villages, but is still constrained in terms of waste sorting, dependence on contribution funds, and the use of facilities such as compost machines that have not been running optimally. Through the community service program, the team introduced three business ideas, namely aromatherapy lilies from used cooking oil, handicrafts from plastic waste, and a waste bank system. The community response showed enthusiasm and readiness to start a simple environmentally-based business. This program is the beginning and transformation of understanding that waste is not just waste, but can also be a potential in the economic sector. It is hoped that BUMG can prepare sustainable business plans, utilize existing technology, and strengthen collaboration for future business development.
2026-06-29T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2026 https://jpaceh.org/index.php/pengabdian/article/view/425From Pocket Money to Future Planning: Enhancing Financial Literacy and Saving Awareness among Elementary School Students through Interactive Financial Education2026-06-29T09:34:47+07:00Putri Salsha Ghifaniasuriani@usk.ac.idSuriani Surianisuriani@usk.ac.idAde Septia Muhtasuriani@usk.ac.idKhairan Asyifasuriani@usk.ac.idRani Indriaska Belasuriani@usk.ac.idSri Rosmiati Sanisuriani@usk.ac.id
Financial literacy is an understanding of finance that needs to be developed from an early age to help children make responsible financial decisions and build positive financial habits. Many elementary school students still have a limited understanding of money management and the importance of saving. This community service activity aims to increase financial literacy and savings awareness among students of SD Negeri 63 Banda Aceh through an interactive financial education program. This activity uses a participatory learning approach that involves presentations, educational games, discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and buy-and-sell simulations using toy money and simple learning media for 28 students who participated in this program. The results showed an increase in students' understanding of basic financial concepts, including the difference between needs and wants, the importance of saving, and simple money management practices. Students are actively engaged in learning activities and show greater awareness of responsible spending and saving. The use of interactive and experiential learning methods allows participants to apply financial concepts in practical situations, making the learning process more meaningful and interesting. The findings show that interactive financial education can improve financial literacy and foster a positive attitude towards saving among elementary school students.
2026-06-29T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2026 https://jpaceh.org/index.php/pengabdian/article/view/424Pemberdayaan Gampong Binaan melalui Kebun Gizi Gampong Berbasis Tanaman Lokal Bergizi (Kelor, Pegagan, Temulawak) untuk Pencegahan Stunting di Gampong Jawa Banda Aceh2026-06-29T04:07:12+07:00Wahyu Eka Sariwahyueka_sari@usk.ac.idHenni Vandawahyueka_sari@usk.ac.idVirda Zikriawahyueka_sari@usk.ac.idLian Varis Riandiwahyueka_sari@usk.ac.idRumi Sahara Zamzamiwahyueka_sari@usk.ac.idNasrullahwahyueka_sari@usk.ac.idMuhammad Hambalwahyueka_sari@usk.ac.idDanielwahyueka_sari@usk.ac.idAwaluddinwahyueka_sari@usk.ac.idM. The main challenges identified included limited understanding among cadres regarding nutrition education based on local plants (Moringa oleifera, Centella asiatica, and Curcuma xanthorrhiza), the absence of sustainable educational media, the lack of an integrated village empowerment model, and the suboptimal use of village land as a nutrition garden. The implemented solution involved the establishment of a nutrition garden based on nutrient-rich local plants through socialization, education, cultivation training, and monitoring using pre- and post-tests. The program results demonstrated improvements of at least 80% in participants’ knowledge and cultivation skills, the establishment of a village nutrition garden as a demonstration site, and the emergence of micro-enterprise initiatives based on local herbal food products. This program has the potential to serve as a sustainable village empowerment model to support stunting prevention and strengthen family economic resilience.
2026-06-29T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2026 https://jpaceh.org/index.php/pengabdian/article/view/423Post-Flood Sanitation Education and Food Support to Prevent Disease in Reuloh Village, Aceh Besar2026-06-29T03:52:07+07:00Taufiq C Dawoodsri.sukma@usk.ac.idChenny Seftaritasri.sukma@usk.ac.idSri Sukma Wahyunisri.sukma@usk.ac.idApridarsri.sukma@usk.ac.idHendra Halimsri.sukma@usk.ac.idDiana Saphasri.sukma@usk.ac.idErnawatisri.sukma@usk.ac.idSrinitasri.sukma@usk.ac.idAnita Faiziahsri.sukma@usk.ac.idLukman Hakimsri.sukma@usk.ac.id
This community service activity was conducted in Reuloh Village, Aceh Besar, after severe floods in November 2025 that damaged houses, contaminated water sources, and increased the risk of waterborne and hygiene-related diseases. The program aimed to strengthen residents’ knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding sanitation and environmental cleanliness to prevent post-flood illness, while providing basic food support to affected households. Using a service-learning approach, lecturers and students from the Department of Development Economics, Universitas Syiah Kuala, conducted interactive educational sessions on safe water treatment, household sanitation, and personal hygiene, accompanied by the distribution of food packages. The results showed an increase in knowledge scores, high levels of participant satisfaction, and strong self-reported intentions to apply recommended practices at home. Early signs of behavior change were observed in the form of joint clean-up initiatives and commitments to boil drinking water. The activity indicates that short, targeted education on water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), integrated with social support, can contribute to post-disaster disease prevention and enhance community resilience in flood-prone areas.
2026-06-29T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2026 https://jpaceh.org/index.php/pengabdian/article/view/422Purifikasi Minyak Nilam Aceh Secara Distilasi Vakum Sebagai Fiksatif Parfum Untuk Kelompok Usaha Masyarakat2026-06-29T03:32:10+07:00Syaifullahmiksalmina@usk.ac.idMiksalminamiksalmina@usk.ac.idSuraiyamiksalmina@usk.ac.idErnawatimiksalmina@usk.ac.idAdinda Gusti Vonnamiksalmina@usk.ac.idSabrina Khairunnisamiksalmina@usk.ac.idNanda Fulariamiksalmina@usk.ac.id
Indonesia is a supplier of 90% of the world's patchouli demand where Aceh patchouli is one of the producers of this commodity. Patchouli oil is widely used as a raw material for various industrial products such as perfumes, soaps, moisturizers, cleansers, and others. Through ARC-PUIPT, Aceh Patchouli has been developed using various technologies of extraction, distillation and development of other derivative products. This development is intended to provide added value to the community with a variety of innovative patchouli oil-based products. This activity aims to teach process technology and patchouli purification to the community. There are three main activities carried out, first, training on the development of innovative oil-based products, namely the introduction of patchouli oil purification technology through vacuum distillation. Second, production of perfume and provision of production equipment to partners, and third, training and assistance for branding and marketing. The activities were given to two partners, namely the Atsirina Business Group and the Aceh Heritage Patchouli Community. The results of these three activities provided knowledge and technology transfer as well as assistance to partners on how patchouli oil can be processed through purification to become hi-grade patchouli and used as a raw material to produce various products with economic value. Furthermore, partners are also taught to mix high quality perfume using purified patchouli oil. Mix it up by introducing the philosophy of perfume which involves three main compositions, namely top notes, middle notes and base notes. Finally, partners are provided with equipment, production materials, production assistance, packaging and branding. It is hoped that partners will be able to strengthen the public image of the perfume products they produce so that they can have an impact on better product marketing and ultimately be able to increase sales turnover and market expansion.
2026-06-29T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2026 https://jpaceh.org/index.php/pengabdian/article/view/421Solidaritas Makmeugang Ramadhan: Program Berbagi Rendang dan Madu ISEI–Rumah Amal USK untuk Masyarakat Terdampak Banjir di Aceh Utara2026-06-28T21:00:24+07:00Novi Indriyani Sitepunovi_indriyani_sitepu@usk.ac.idAliasuddinaliasuddin@usk.ac.idFaisalnovi_indriyani_sitepu@usk.ac.idJasman J Ma’rufnovi_indriyani_sitepu@usk.ac.idDarwanisnovi_indriyani_sitepu@usk.ac.idNanda Rahminanda_rahmi84@usk.ac.idAida Rina Elisivanovi_indriyani_sitepu@usk.ac.idSyukriy Abdullahnovi_indriyani_sitepu@usk.ac.idJalaluddinnovi_indriyani_sitepu@usk.ac.idAmri ZAnovi_indriyani_sitepu@usk.ac.id
Floods that struck North Aceh Regency between late 2024 and early 2025 significantly disrupted the socio-economic conditions of local communities and reduced their capacity to meet basic needs, particularly food security. Many households lost their homes, suffered damage to productive assets, and had difficulty accessing food supplies and cooking facilities. Under such circumstances, there is an urgent need for food assistance that is rapid, practical, nutritious, easy to distribute, and culturally acceptable to the affected communities. This community service program aimed to alleviate the burden of flood-affected communities through the Rendang and Honey Sharing Program, organized by the Indonesian Association of Economists (ISEI) in collaboration with Rumah Amal Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK). The program was implemented from 15–17 February 2025 in Langkahan, Muara Batu, and Sawang Subdistricts, North Aceh Regency. A participatory approach was employed, encompassing needs assessment, fundraising, preparation and packaging of aid, distribution, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting. The assistance distributed consisted of 223 packages of rendang, 231 bottles of honey, and children's snacks, with a total donation value of approximately IDR 30 million. The results indicate that ready-to-eat food assistance based on local wisdom effectively addressed the urgent food needs of flood-affected communities in a timely and targeted manner. Beyond meeting immediate nutritional needs, the program strengthened social solidarity, encouraged community participation in humanitarian activities, and revitalized the values of Meugang, a traditional Acehnese practice of sharing food before Ramadan. The findings demonstrate that collaboration among professional organizations, university-based philanthropic institutions, volunteers, and local communities can serve as an effective, sustainable, and culturally grounded model of community service for supporting post-disaster recovery and social resilience.
2026-06-29T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2026 https://jpaceh.org/index.php/pengabdian/article/view/420Pendampingan dan PelatihanDigital Entrepreneurhip Academy Level Dasar I: Kewirausahaan Digital Dasar2026-06-28T20:53:49+07:00Mardalenamardalena@fe.unsri.ac.idHera Febria Mavilindamardalena@fe.unsri.ac.id
Increasing productivity, innovation, and MSME access to marketplaces, industries, and financial institutions can be achieved through digital entrepreneurship training and mentoring. As a more environmentally friendly alternative, the ecoprint technique has been developed using natural pigments from leaves, flowers, and other plant parts through a contact printing process. This study aims to analyze the attractiveness of ecoprint products that combine leaf and geometric motifs, and to assess consumer perceptions of the aesthetic aspects and desirability of the products. The study used a quantitative descriptive method with 50 respondents in the Aceh Besar region. Data were collected through production experiments and distributed questionnaires to potential consumers. The results showed that more than 80% of respondents found ecoprint motifs and colors attractive, and all respondents stated that ecoprint is an environmentally friendly product. The most popular products were bags, clothing, and headscarves, with a preference for marketing through digital media. Based on these findings, ecoprint has the potential to be developed as a sustainable fashion product with aesthetic, ecological, and economic value. Further development is needed in color, motif, and design variations to increase competitiveness in the market.
2026-06-29T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2026
