Abstract

Indonesia is a country with a large number of migrant workers. The problem is, many Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) who work abroad become problematic because they go not according to procedures. Responding to the importance of the rights of migrant workers, it is necessary to have legal protection for these migrant workers. Starting from the problems of migrant workers to efforts to resolve and handle them. The problem of migrant workers encourages the government to take steps how to address the rights of migrant workers that must be fulfilled based on the provisions of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 18 of 2017 concerning the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers. Therefore, this Community Service (PKM) activity is in partnership with the Technical Implementation Unit of the Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection Agency (UPT BP2MI) for the Pontianak - West Kalimantan Region, which discusses the protection of PMIs. This service uses a participatory action research method where reflection leads to joint action in the form of training that contributes to increasing knowledge about the rights of PMI and the basic law of protection for PMI.
