Abstract

This literature review discusses Western-based theories from an Islamic perspective, specifically Human Resource Management (HRM) and Islamic HRM. The event featured a book review of "Islamic Human Capital Management," with Islamic HRM among the chapters discussed. The event was attended by lecturers, students, and the general public in a hybrid format. The discussion revealed a shared view: the importance of revising Western theories to reflect Islamic law, which is not only appropriate in Muslim-majority countries but also globally. It is hoped that future comparisons of Western theories will extend beyond management aspects to other conceptual theories.
