The Department of Soil Science organizes this training activity on the production of biofertilizers and mycorrhiza to enhance the competence and skills of soil science students, particularly those who focus on research themes and practical skills related to biofertilizers and mycorrhiza, as well as students who are interested in improving their skills in biofertilizer and mycorrhiza production that can later be developed to assist and empower communities and become business opportunities. The activity is carried out in several stages. The first stage includes guidance and direction from resource persons on producing biofertilizers and mycorrhiza, sterilizing growing media, preparing host plants, and preparing plant pots conducted on the first day. On the second day, the training continued with the preparation of seeds and seedlings in sterile sand and the preparation of potting media. On the third day, the training involved planting the trapping culture. On the final day, the activity included observing spore counts, product packaging, and closing remarks. The expected outcome of this training is for students to gain the ability and skills to produce biofertilizers and mycorrhiza. By participating in this training, students will be able to assist communities in producing biofertilizers and, in the future, develop this into a business opportunity that can help meet daily needs. Thus, this activity is a foundation of knowledge and skills for soil science students for personal development and community service.
