Pelatihan Pembuatan Campuran Media Tanam dengan Biochar di Desa Krueng Lamkareung, Kecamatan Indrapuri, Aceh Besar

Abstract

This training activity aimed to increase vegetable crop production. Other benefits of this community service activity for farmers were: (1) With community service activities, it was hoped that farmers would have knowledge and understand the benefits of biochar for agriculture; (2) With this training activity, it was hoped that farmers could apply the use of biochar to increase vegetable production and understand how to apply it as a mixture of planting media; (3) With this community service activity, it was hoped that farmers would be able to increase yields while also improving their economy and welfare; and (4) With this activity, it was hoped that the community can promote organic farming and environmental sustainability—the location of this training activity at Krueng Lamkareung Village, Indrapuri Subdistrict, Aceh Besar District. The stages of the activities were: (1) Preparing the necessary materials and tools, (2) Disseminating research results on the application of biochar in agriculture, (3) Conducting demonstrations and practices on making planting media for vegetable plant nurseries, especially mustard greens. The conclusion of the results of this training activity was: (1) From the dissemination and training materials provided to farmers, they gained knowledge about biochar and understand and practice making a mixture of planting media for vegetable seedlings, especially mustard greens, and (2) The farmers were very enthusiastic about participating in the training and practicing how to make a mixture of planting media with biochar and hope that this activity can continue in the future with various new knowledge about biochar.
