This community service program aims to develop appropriate technology in the form of an eco-friendly hybrid composite Jaloe Bruk to enhance the durability of fishing gear and improve the economic productivity of the “Krueng Teuga” Fishermen Group in Meunasah Krueng Kala Village, Lhoong, Aceh Besar. The implementation methods include identifying partner needs, providing technical training in composite fabrication using hand lay-up and spray-up techniques, creating molds, and conducting hands-on production practice. A participatory approach is applied to ensure active involvement of fishermen from planning to implementation. The outcomes of this program include the production of one Jaloe Bruk unit made of hybrid composite materials, improved fishermen’s skills in the fabrication and maintenance of composite-based boats, and strengthened capacity of the partner group to independently apply appropriate technology. This innovation is expected to promote the revitalization of traditional boats with improved durability, cost efficiency, and environmental friendliness, while also creating new economic opportunities in coastal areas.
