Sosialisasi Penyakit Rabies Pada Masyarakat Desa Napagaluh Kecamatan Danau Paris Kabupaten Aceh Singkil

Abstract

The purpose of this community service initiative was to raise awareness of rabies among the families of dog-bite victims and the community of Napagaluh Village, Danau Paris Sub-district, Aceh Singkil Regency. The method used involved direct socialization and education for the affected community. The activity took place on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at the village hall. It was attended by staff from the Provincial and Regency-level Health Office and Livestock Service of Aceh Singkil, sub-district coordination forum (Muspika) officials, the local Community Health Center (Puskesmas), and community leaders of Napagaluh Village. Following the rabies socialization and education activity, there was a noticeable change in the behavior and attitudes of the dog-bite victims' families and the community toward rabies prevention and the management of dog-bite cases. The families and community members now understand and are willing to implement rabies prevention measures through Anti-Rabies Vaccination (VAR) for rabies-transmitting animals (HPR), such as dogs and cats.
