Edukasi Pemilahan Sampah dan Peningkatan Kesadaran Bahaya Mikroplastik di Desa Deah Raya Kota Banda Aceh

The MBKM USK Village Development Programme in Deah Raya Village, Syiah Kuala District, Banda Aceh City, aims to raise public awareness of the importance of waste sorting and the dangers of microplastics. Through an educational and participatory approach, this activity is carried out through outreach and surveys with the local community. This study employs a descriptive quantitative approach to assess the extent to which awareness-raising activities influence improvements in knowledge, awareness, and behavioural intentions regarding waste sorting and understanding the dangers of microplastics. The subjects of this study are the residents of Deah Raya Village who participated directly in the activities. A total of 14 participants were involved in the survey, comprising various backgrounds, including housewives, youth, and community leaders. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in the community's technical knowledge, awareness, and behavioural intentions regarding waste sorting, particularly regarding microplastics. Direct education proved effective in fostering positive habits that contribute to sustainable environmental management.
