Abstract

The purpose of manufacturing boats made from a thermosetting matrix, type polyester type Yukalac 157, is to replace the use of wooden boats. In addition, the results of the development of this product can add additional income to partners besides being obtained from fishing in the sea. The basic target of this product realization is to improve the quality of the boat by using a synthetic material combination technology derived from glass fiber reinforced resin. This combination produces boat body materials that can withstand weathering and damage for up to a dozen years. This will ease the burden of maintaining the boat so that its operations will be lower because so far the scarcity and quality of wood used for boat materials has made them overwhelmed and it is difficult to find sustenance for their families which has resulted in a higher poverty rate. The final product is a fishing boat measuring 4 meters in length, 0.9 meters in width and 0.4 meters in height with a maximum loading capacity of 400 kg, where the boats can be used by the partner groups and the youth of Kampung Pandee alternately or together for their needs in various activities such as repairing ponds, caring for cages, catching and fishing. Then this boat product will be developed and produced more as needed.
