Abstract

A community service activity with the aim of improving the community's economy through training on producing goat wafers as an innovation product for animal feed has been carried out. This activity was carried out in Bada Village, Ingin Jaya District, Aceh Besar District. Bada Village has a community of people who depend on the agricultural and livestock sectors for their lives. With this Product-based Community Service program, we introduce to the farming community/breeders in Bada Village about goat wafer feed made by utilizing cow rumen waste from slaughterhouse (RPH), and vegetable waste. This goat wafer is made by mixing several feed ingredients including forage, legumes, concentrates, and adhesives (molasses), which are molded and dried to resemble wafers, which can be given to goats as additional feed. By providing wafer feed regularly, it will be able to increase the weight of the goat so that it increases the selling value. During and after the program, the community in Bada village was increasingly aware of good goat rearing procedures, especially about a good and balanced feed composition for goat growth. Also, the community is very enthusiastic about training to make goat wafers which are very economical, innovative, and beneficial for their goats.
